Stuart Turnock
Stuart is a Director of Serco SDC Consulting, leading work on adult and older peoples services across health and social care. Prior to joining SDC at the end of 2001, Stuart worked for the Audit Commission for 12 years, leading their work on adult community care and older people’s services. Stuart led on a number of projects, the most recent leading to the publications The Coming of Age: improving care services for older people (1997) and The Way to Go Home: Rehabilitation and remedial services for older people (2000) and during 2001 was leading a review of partnership arrangements. Both above mentioned reports had significant impact on policy and service development. He has also published through the King’s Fund and the BMJ. He served on a number of DoH working groups whilst at the Audit Commission - e.g, SSI Care Management, Hospital Discharge, Health Act Flexibilities Core Group, NSF development, etc. Prior to the Audit Commission, Stuart worked 4 years in the health service and 4 years in local government social services. He has wide knowledge of adult and older people’s services, and health and social services more generally. His work has given him a broad knowledge of notable service developments across the UK and internationally.
